Something A Little Different??

I ordered this "Chocolate Peacock Toile" from Fabric.com the other day.  I cut it in pieces and hung them on the clips.  Now I keep looking at it and wondering if it's right.
I think it's beautiful fabric, but it almost looks black and white in the room.  Sort of like a newspaper.

Here's a close up of it, and my new fish sign I got at the flea market.  It's carved from a solid piece of light weight wood. It says "Beer & Bait" . It's so cute.  The chain is all rusty. I guess it used to hang outside somewhere.

I painted this one wall the same blue as the Master Bedroom.  I thought it was such a pretty color that I had to use it somewhere else, so I painted the 3 arch walls blue, and the others are ivory.

I wonder if I should take the fabric down and cover wing back chairs and slipper chairs with it, or leave it up.
I guess I'll live with it awhile.

I love the fabric. Maybe backing it with a solid color would show it up more? Gorgeous wall color too.

Seriously whichever you choose will look amazing. I guess it comes down to your personal preference. I agree with living for it a tad and bit and then see. I love this color....and well you know I think anything you touch turns to gold...I mean platinum.

Cheers~

I like the fabric a lot, I agree maybe putting a lining on them would help. And the wall color is very pretty as well!

I love this fabric! I think it gives such an eclectic charm to this area. And I'm not sure it matters what color it looks at this point. :) And, by the way, I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!

I think it looks gorgeous in the room! I like the idea of maybe backing it if you think the brown comes off looking black.

Beautiful fabric. Is the curtain rod black? If it is, that could be the trick to your eye that is going on. If the rod was brown I think you would see the fabric looking brown. Also you might try adding something with brown on the table. Love your blog.

Very pretty fabric--try lining with a muslin to block the light, or add a topper fabric of same tone of brown in the print. Even a light weight sheer over window will soften the light coming in--but then you don't have to openess of undressed windows. Try several options--it is such pretty fabric.

The fabric is beautiful. Is it lined? Maybe if it isn't lined and you lined it the brown would be more brown? Or maybe if you added a brown edge of fabric to the sides the brown would stand out. The pattern looks beautiful in the room, I would live with it for awhile and see if it grows on you.

Love the fabric. I think it looks great with that blue wall. Your whole room is beautiful. Keep it up for awhile. You could always reuse it later for something else.

Very pretty, Kelly! I'd live with it for awhile. I kind of like the neutrality to it, although I can see it is a chocolate brown and not a black in your pics. When my clients aren't sure about something, I aways tell them to live with it for at least two weeks and then see how they feel.

Love that fabric and I am with the others... give it a few weeks and if you still aren't sure, take them down. You will know after looking at it for a while!

Now you know I'm partial to slipcovers, and I kinda think the pattern gets lost in all those folds.

With a slipcover the pattern would be shown to a better advantage.

Kelly, I had the same problem with a set of drapes. I lined them with drapery lining and they looked beautiful and not washed out. Hope this helps. Becky

Kelly,Darlin',
I've been so sick, that I just haven't had the energy to keep up.
Feeling better...and I LOVE the fabric for the window treatments. That said, it's important you love it...lined, it will show up better.
I am wondering if a black-and-white buffalo check runner, or a wide, striped, black and white runner on the table might balance it..But then, you seat covers aren't pure white..what the heck -
I think you need to follow your heart..

I like the fabric. It does look black and white, but that's not a bad thing. It's really pretty in the room.

Kelly, I love the fabric & think it makes a great statement in your room. I actually though brown when I first clicked on here. Brown & aqua look so good together. I'd keep it up!
