A couple of months ago I started making linen pillows with all of the beautiful fabric I've been collecting. When I won the wonderful book giveaway at Vicky's blog Room Service ~ Decorating 101 ... I added one of the styles of pillows in the book. The ones with the white linen and seashell buttons.
Mine aren't exactly like the ones in the book though. They used ruffles and I did mine with little pleats.
I bought this piece a couple of years ago. I looked it up on line and found it in other colors. I guess they discontinued this orange/salmon color. (it's a salmon color in person) It feels like a yummy European linen. The weave is gorgeous!
A while back I found this wing chair second hand and covered it with a white King coverlet I've had stored away for this exact reason. I knew the right piece would come along...and here it is.
The King barely covered this chair. I guess because the back is so tall and the wings are wide. I used white denim for the cording and the seat decking to save fabric... and still used every bit of the coverlet.
I would have made the skirt about 2 " longer, but I almost didn't even have enough for it!
A lot of you have said you are going to, or might try this.
Plan ahead, skimp where you can, or have a twin size standing by just in case. LOL
I like the look with one of the white pillows. The white on white is so pretty.
Don't you just love this look?
Kelly

Your slipcovers are perfection! I love this wingchair, it's so crisp!
I absolutely love that look.
One day I'll have the nerve to get started with a slipcover - I have three wing chairs waiting, and my husband just might leave me if I don't do something soon!
Kelly- I absolutely love it. I usually make pleats rather than ruffles too. I like the way they look. Your pillows are gorgeous and so is the chair! Nice job! Diana
I love the look. I LOVE those pillows! You did an awesome job!
Kelly, I do LOVE that look. You are so talented with your sewing and eye for fabric. I just love everything you do. Each time I look at your site I am so inspired. I am going to attempt slip covering. I have several things that I would like to cover. Looking at your creations makes me want to get over my fears & just do it! I am always excited to see your blog and see what you've put up.
Hi Kelly, I used a white coverlet before when covering things - such a great use for old blankets. The pillows look great - especially with your special ruffles touch. :)
You are the empress of slipcovers!! Those pillows are beautiful and I have yet to see you do anything less than gorgeous. Very, very nice.
You are fabulous! I always look forward to a new post from you b/c I know it's going to be something elegant and gorgeous.
Love the chair. Love the pillows.
I love the chair. I also have a big coverlet awaiting the perfect chair. You are amazing at slipcovers and your pillows are wonderful.

Great job Kelly. The quilted coverlet adds such great texture. I have one I plan to use for a slipcover, just need to get motivated.
I do love the look. I love all the pillows and the wingback. Actually I love anything you make. You have the magic touch. What a great idea to use the coverlet. That chair looks so rich now. Another success story I would say! Lori L
Your pillows are all gorgeous, but your slipcover totally stole my heart. I absolutely love it. Beautifully done. Hugs, Marty
I do love it, Kelly! The pattern on that white coverlet you used for the chair slip is gorgeous! It really adds to what could be just a plain white slipcover. The pillows are great. I like a pleat ~ sometimes it's nice to have a change from a ruffle. The linen floral pillows look like they would go well in my dining room.
Beautiful! That's one of my favortie styles for pillows! You did a great job! LOVE the idea of the king coverlet for the slipcover. I'm going to have to remember this one! Thanks for the inspiration!
These are so lovely. I have a king-size coverlet waiting for me to find the right chair, too!
Oh...simply perfection. I ADORE the pillows {the slipcover is divine...but you probably are already aware of my unhealthy obsession with your work.} I think you need to have a giveaway for a pillow and rig it so I win. :) I tease....back to work on my sewing. My stuff looks junior highish next tou your swoon worthy pieces.
Cheers~

It's very elegant! The pillows are so dreamy too.
Yes I do!!! I love anything you touch! You are a magician!
What a beautiful slipcover! I too have a wing chair waiting desperately for a new cover. One day I will get to it, as soon as I figure out how to do the piping.
Beautiful , love that look :)
Simply gorgeous. I wish I had the patience you have to even sew up a pillow, nevermind slipcover and entire chair or sofa.
Beautiful pillows and slipcovered chair! dee dee
Hello,
I love the slipcover and the pillows are perfect! I was wondering if you ever sell the pillows? If you do, I would be interested!
Thanks,
Gretchen
I love that you used the coverlet! Really pretty, I love the look with the pillow. The little pleats are so cute with the buttons. Well done!
I am so very much in love with this look!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
Hey thanks for the shout out! And the pillows and chair are wonderful. I love everything you do...
Oh how I love this look! Your talent is amazing!! I am taking an upholstery class and I asked my instructor what was harder upholstery or slipcovering...he said slipcovering hands down! So as I struggle trying to upholster a chair....I can so appreciate your talent!!
I just found your blog and am a follower!!
Lou Cinda :)
There you go again....ingenuity. I love the wing chair cover! And the pillows are so elegant. What a wonderful job you have done.
Your pillows and chair are wonderful. I'm glad to know a king coverlet will be enough for a wingback--I'd wondered about that.
I just love love love your new slipcover. Using a coverlet is fabulous on this chair.
I'll keep this post as a reference. I have a few things I want to cover too!
Great post.
Yvonne
Your work is so beautiful! I love the idea of the coverlet for the slipcover. It really makes your wing chair all the more cozier! As for the pillows I would prefer them the way you did it, with the pleated ruffle. That has much more of a crisp look to me, it's so much nicer!
